Department of Water Management Project 7578 (Irving Park)
The Department of Water Management will be replacing the aging water and sewer infrastructure and lead service lines in the area to ensure that our families have access to clean drinking water and to improve stormwater management. This project will include:
Water main replacement on St. Louis, Bernard, and Kimball Avenues from Addison Street to Elston Avenue.
Sewer main replacement on Waveland from Central Park to Kimball Avenues, on St. Louis, from Waveland to Grace, and on Drake and Central Park Avenues, from Waveland to 250 feet north.
Lead service line replacements for homes on St. Louis, Bernard, and Kimball Avenues from Addison Street to Elston Avenue, and on Drake and Central Park Avenues from Waveland to Grace.
The Department of Water Management will begin work as early as mid-May. The first phase will be on St. Louis from Elston Avenue to Waveland Street, which will include the replacement of the water main, sewer main, and lead services lines. Further work throughout the area will be phased, and we will share more detailed information on those timelines in the near future.
If you live on one of the streets where lead service line replacements will be taking place, our office will happily connect you with the Department of Water Management to answer any questions and so you can fill out the necessary forms.
